Employee benefit ensures mobility across sites

Currenta operates three chemical park sites in Leverkusen, Dormagen and Krefeld-Uerdingen, employing around 7,000 people in total. A key challenge is ensuring that every site and employee—regardless of site size—feels equally addressed and supported.

Since November 2024, Currenta has been using Karos to provide carpooling as a fully employer-funded mobility benefit. The response was strong from the outset, particularly within the plant fire brigade, where informal carpools already existed. Following high demand, Currenta increased the budget again after the first year. Regular competitions and campaigns—from cinema vouchers to Currenta merchandise—further encourage participation. The platform is actively promoted internally, including at works meetings and during onboarding events for new apprentices.
