Targeting corporate mobility as a joint operation

Airbus Toulouse, the region's largest private employer, faces the challenge of moving thousands of commuters reliably and affordably to multiple sites in the airport area — traditional public transit alone is not enough.

‍

In September 2018, Karos launched carpooling with Airbus as part of the European COMUTE project, alongside employers such as Safran, ATR and Toulouse Airport. Airbus actively co-finances the trips, bringing the cost down to just €0.50 per passenger trip. The result: from around 250 trips in April 2019, and after the COVID slowdown, the service grew to an average of 5,540 monthly passenger trips.

‍

Today, Airbus employees account for roughly two thirds of all trips in Tisséo's Covoiteo scheme — with reach extending to partner authorities such as Montauban and le Frontonnais north of Toulouse.
